Journey

My freelance graphic design journey within the community has helped me grow beyond the traditional workplace by working on real-world products, branding, and campaigns. Through hands-on experience, I developed skills in art direction and industry-standard design programs while building projects that connect directly with people and culture. 05. Vycious Minds

The goal of this project was to redesign the original logo so it better reflected the brand’s intended identity. The previous “VM” signature mark was meant to symbolize both a tree and the initials, but the execution caused it to read more like “YM,” making the concept unclear and less recognizable. My solution was to simplify the structure by removing the lower stem element that represented the tree trunk beneath the “V.” I then integrated foliage inspired by vector tree forms to create a cleaner and more balanced design. The final result successfully merged the organic tree symbolism with the “VM” initials, creating a distinctive and recognizable logo for Vycious Minds.

04. Elliotts Junk Removal & Demolition

This project was presented with little direction, aside from the need for a straightforward identity that clearly represented a demolition brand. I focused on universally recognizable construction elements, incorporating a sledgehammer and hard hat as the foundation of the logo concept. To strengthen the connection to the industry, I added subtle details such as rubble textures and house silhouettes. The final design successfully captured the brand’s purpose and was immediately approved and well received by the client.

03. Bigger than Basketball

Bigger Than Basketball is a community-driven summer league program for which I created the primary logo and brand identity. The organization focuses on uplifting the basketball community on Staten Island through youth trips, training sessions, and its exclusive “Shoot Hoops Not Guns” summer tournament, which brings awareness to lives lost to gun violence over the years. The logo design placed strong emphasis on the connection between the city and the game of basketball, combining urban-inspired elements with basketball imagery. At its core, the branding was designed to reinforce the program’s central message that education and personal growth come before athletics.

02. Stay Alive Club

Stay Alive Club is a fitness brand focused on promoting healthy lifestyles through a fun but strong identity. The client wanted to use a duck as the main symbol, inspired by the phrase, “stop ducking the gym.” The goal was to create branding that motivated people to stay active while appealing to both men and women of all ages.

The main challenge was balancing a playful concept with a serious fitness look. My approach was to design a logo that felt energetic, confident, and welcoming without looking too cartoonish. The final result created a brand identity that made the gym feel like a safe and motivating space for everyone.

01. Koi Clothing Brand

Koi Brand is a clothing line created to reflect the symbolism of the koi fish, which represents perseverance, growth, strength, and ambition. The original vision was to build a logo inspired by the balance and flow of yin and yang energy while incorporating the movement of koi fish in a continuous cycle.

Working closely with the founder, we developed a recognizable visual identity and branding system that could grow alongside the brand’s evolving ideas and direction. The goal was to create something universal, meaningful, and memorable within the Staten Island community while leaving room for future expansion and creative development.
